Overview
FieldEdge list views provide you with a powerful tool to sort, organize, and search your data based on a multitude of filters.
Instruction
The following glossary contains filter descriptions present in FieldEdge's list views. Each list may have a few unique terms but the general assortment is the same.
Tip: A good way to utilize this glossary is to utilize the search function on your web browser. On most Windows PCs this is done by pressing CTRL+F on your keyboard and then typing the term in the search box.

Descriptions |
Account ID |
This is generally a numeric field that can be used to differentiate customers with similar names, such as Smith, John 00118 and Smith, John 23091. This can be enabled for new customers under Settings | Global Settings. |
Active |
This will show if the customer is currently active or not. |
Active Work Orders |
Shows the number of active work orders for the customer (those not in a Canceled, Finalized, or Completed status). |
Actual End Date |
This will show the date the job ended. Use this in conjunction with the Is Job filter to remove customers and Job Status filter to only show completed jobs. If you don't care about the status of the job, use the End Date field instead. |
Address 1 |
This will show the first address line for the service location. It is great for a search filter, but you might want to replace it with Full Address on reports. |
Address 2 |
This will show the second address line for the service location. This is typically used to show unit numbers or other important address info. |
Bill From Office |
Use this to see which customers are set to bill from the office. Mobile users will not be able to see prices in the field for customers set this way. |
Billing Address 1 |
This will show the first address line for the customer's billing address. Use the Same Billing Address filter to show only customers where this is different from the service address. |
Billing Address 2 |
This will show the second address line for the customer's billing location. This is typically used to show unit numbers or other important address info. |
Billing City |
This will show the city of the billing address. |
Billing Name |
This will show the name associated with the billing address. |
Billing State |
This will show the state used in the billing address. |
Billing Zip |
This will show the zip code used in the billing address. |
Business Unit |
This will show the business unit assigned to this customer if you have that feature enabled. |
Card Expires On |
If the customer has a credit card on file, this will show you when it is set to expire. Configuring your Credit Card Expiring Communication Template will automatically send the user an email, text, or phone call before you would charge it again to let them know to contact you. |
City |
This will show the city for the service location. It is great for search filters, but you might want to replace it with Full Address on reports. |
Company |
This will show the customer's company name. This is often blank if the first and last name fields are filled out. Display name is a great alternative to use on reports. |
Contact Via Email |
This will show if the customer receives email messages through properly configured communication templates. |
Contact Via Phone |
This will show if the customer receives phone messages through properly configured communication templates. |
Contact Via Text |
This will show if the customer receives text messages through properly configured communication templates. |
Customer Since |
Shows the first date they became a customer. This can be different from the Date Added because it can be edited directly in the software, imported during onboarding, or set when the record changes state from a prospect to a customer. |
Customer Status |
This will show if the record is classified as a prospect or customer. This is a great way to find all prospects and market to them. |
Customer Type |
Shows the type associated with the customer. This can be a useful way to group customers (such as residential, commercials, etc.) |
Date Added |
Shows the date the record was created. Also see Customer Since. |
Date Last Paid |
Show the last date the customer made a payment. This will be accurate even if they payment was made in the accounting system. |
Date Modified |
Shows the last time the customer was modified. |
Default Agreement Plan |
Shows the name of the default active agreement if the customer has one. |
Disable Recording |
This will show if the customer has opted out of having their calls recorded. |
Display Name |
This will show the customer's display name. This is unique so it will help you differentiate between two customers with similar names such as Smith, John 00118 and Smith, John 23091. |
Do Not Service |
This will show if you should service the customer or not. |

This will show the primary email address for the customer. This is a great way to search for customers and can also help you identify which email will be used in conjunction with the Communication Templates. |
End Date |
This will show the end date for a job. It should only be used in conjunction with the Is Job field. It will show the actual end date if there is one and the expected end date if there is not. |
First Name |
This will show the customer's first name. This is often blank if the company name is filled out. Display name is a great alternative to use on reports. |
Full Address |
This will show the customer's full service address. This is a great solution if you are looking to export this report as it will hide Address 2 if it is blank and makes mail merges easy. |
Full Name |
This will show the current record and all parent records. This can be helpful to show the customer hierarchy. |
Is Job |
Use this to differentiate between jobs and customers. |
Job Billing Type |
This is used to show if a job should be billed progressively or not. Only use it in conjunction with the Is Job filter to make the results valid. |
Job Status |
Shows the status of the job. This is best used in conjunction with the Is Job filter to remove customers and just show jobs on the report. |
Job Type |
This is used to show the job type (such as normal, warranty, etc.). Only use it in conjunction with the Is Job filter to make the results valid. |
Last Name |
This will show the customer's last name. This is often blank if the company name is filled out. Display name is a great alternative to use on reports. |
Last Visited |
This will show the date of the customer's last completed work order created in FieldEdge. This is a great way to find customers you have not done work for lately. |
Lead Source |
This is used to show the lead source that was selected when the customer was created. It is a great way to see how you initially acquired the customer. |
Next Invoice |
This will show the next date the customer should be billed for any agreements they have. |
Next Service |
This will show the next date service should be performed on any agreements the customer has. |
On Contract |
This will show if the customer has an active service agreement or not. Try combining customers without agreements with the full address field to quickly create a list you can use for marketing agreements. |
Phone |
This will show the primary phone number for the customer. This is a great way to search for customers and can also help you identify which phone number will be used to send text messages and phone calls through the Communication Templates. |
Pinned Note |
This shows the note associated with the customer if there is one. |
Project Manager |
This will show the project manager assigned to a job. It should be used in conjunction with the Is Job filter to remove customers from the report. |
Projected End Date |
This will show the date the job is expected to end. Use this in conjunction with the Is Job filter to remove customers and Job Status filter to only show jobs that are not completed yet. If you don't care about the status of the job, use the End Date field instead. |
QuickBooks ID |
This will show the unique QuickBooks ID for the customer. This will generally only be used for troubleshooting purposes. |
Require PO |
This will show if the customer requires a purchase order to be supplied before a work order can be created. |
Salesperson |
This will show the default salesperson assigned to the customer. This salesperson will be applied to new invoices and quotes for this customer automatically, although they can be changed afterwards. |
Same Billing Address |
Use this to see which customers have a billing address that differs from their service location. Use the Billing Address fields to show these addresses if desired. |
Start Date |
This will show the date a job started. Use it in conjunction with the Is Job filter to remove customers from the report. It might also be worth filtering or showing the Job Status field on the report so you can see the current state of the job. |
State |
This will show the State used in the service address. It is great for search filters, but you might want to replace it with Full Address on reports. |
Tax Exempt Reason |
This will show the reason a customer has been marked as tax exempt. It is best used in conjunction with the Tax Group filter so you can focus on just the exempt customers. |
Tax Group |
This will show the default tax group that will be used for all invoices and quotes created for the customer. |
Terms |
This will show the default terms for the customer. This can be overridden on an invoice or quote. |
Zip |
This will show the zip code used in the service address. It is great for search filters, but you might want to replace it with Full Address on reports. |
