Part 3: Identify the Shortcuts
If using this procedure you may want to better identify the different profiles to ensure you're always entering data into the correct environment. Firefox provides an extension to better identify the unique profiles, helping provide an additional layer of protection in keeping your data accurate.
- Go into one of your Firefox profiles that you made in Part 2: Create the Shortcut.
- In the top right of Firefox, click their Open menu button and select Add-ons.
- On the following screen, choose Extensions on the left.
- In the Find more extensions field, search for Show Profile and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
- This will open a new tab in your Firefox browser. Click on the result for Show Profile by neo82.
- On the following screen, select the + Add to Firefox button and click Add on the Add show-profile? pop-up.
- You should now receive a confirmation that "show-profile has been added to Firefox." Click Ok.
- Close and reopen the profile which you installed Show Profile and click on the Open menu and select Add-ons.
- In the list of Add-ons, look for show-profile and choose the Options button.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter the name of the Profile into the Text field and click Save.
- Note: There will be no confirmation/indication a change was made, but if you clicked Save, it worked.
- Finally, test it! Close and reopen Firefox and the new tab in the upper left should now display the Profile Name you previously entered.
Simply repeat this process for any other profiles you need to configure. Now you should be able to more comfortably navigate between your separate FieldEdge companies.
