Custom Items
Custom items are used to bill for any items that don't already exist, sell agreements, give discounts, and more. You'll find this section at the very bottom of your left-hand menu.
Clicking into any of these sections will give you the opportunity to add a new item by clicking the + symbol near the top-left of your screen.
Below, we'll cover each section and what they're used for.
Service Fees
Service fees can be used to bill for any general fee you wish to charge for, such as travel distance fees, diagnostics, or other general services. When placed on a work order, service fees are the only item your customer does not have the option to decline.
You can select from a pre-existing list of names for your fee, or enter your own custom name and the price you want to charge. Remember to click 'save' when you're done to save your new fee.
Agreements
Agreements are used to provide your customer a discount plan for retaining your services. Here you can enter the name of the agreement, percentage of the discount and what it applies to, the sales price of that agreement, and how often it's billed.
You may also select whether to have the agreement's saving apply to the work order you sell it on, and whether or not that agreement sale is taxed. Click 'save' when you're finished to save your agreement.
Discounts
Discounts are exactly what they sound like, a discount to your customer. Here you can select from a list of ready-made discount names, or choose your own custom discount name.
You'll also choose whether or not this discount will apply to service call/diagnostic fees or the sale of a maintenance agreement, if you want your discount to be percentage-based or a flat dollar amount, and the amount of that discount. Click 'Save' when you're finished.
Installs & Quotes
Custom quotes are used for services you provide often, but don't want to take the time to manually type out every time you sell them.
Here you'll enter the name you want to give your installation/quote, whatever description of that service you choose, the price of it, and whether or not to charge tax on it. Click 'Save' when you're finished.
Tune-Ups
Unlike the other custom items, Tune-Ups gives you a lot of preset names for your tune-up services, including variances for inspections, planned maintenance, and annual maintenance. If none of these fit your needs, you can simply enter your own custom name.
Enter the price you want to charge for your tune-up, select whether or not it will be charged tax, and click 'Save' to save your new tune-up item.
Repairs & Equipment
For a custom repair, you'll enter the description of the repair and/or parts, then decide whether you want this repair to be billed at a flat fee or charged labor time. If you choose labor time, you'll also want to insert your total parts cost for that repair. The markup for your parts will be applied automatically for you. Once you've finished, hit 'Save.'
